Pastor Tony Dusso, Senior Pastor
Pastor Tony is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Wartburg Theological Seminary. He previously served as pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, Ashtabula, Ohio; Zion Lutheran Church, Doylestown, Ohio; Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Oak Forest, Illinois; and as Pastor for Discipleship at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Rockford, Illinois. He has ministry experience as an instructor for Diakonia, as a coach for first-call pastors in the Northern Illinois Synod, as a coach for congregations in the Metro Chicago Synod's Turn Around Synod Initiative. Pastor Tony has also done extensive study in Family Systems Theory through the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center.
Pastor Tony and his family live in Rockton. His wife, Valerie, is the Office and Communication Administrator at Christ Lutheran Church in Belvidere. Their son and daughter, Grant and Bailey, are sophomores at Hononegah High School; and their youngest son, Preston, is in eighth grade at Stephen Mack Middle School.
Pastor Tony is a lifelong baseball fan (Go Brewers) and takes in many ballgames during the summer. He is frequently at the Stateline YMCA and enjoys going for walks. He likes to travel with his family, listen to podcasts and is a classical music buff. Pastor Tony especially enjoys reading, among his favorite authors are Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Richard Rohr, Robert Caro, Dallas Willard, Eugene Peterson and John Updike.
